Match Preview: Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars to battle for maximum points

Hearts of Oak will face Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon in search of their first win of the season.

The Phobians have had a disappointing start to the season, drawing their first two games, much like last year.

In their championship defence opener at home, the defending champions were held to a goalless draw by Legon Cities, and were denied victory at WAFA last week when Sampson Agyapong cancelled out Kofi Kodzi’s first-half score.

The players are under pressure to squeeze every ounce of talent out of their bodies in order to return to winning ways.

There’s no need to panic, according to head coach Samuel Boadu.

“Not at all [no pressure], I know myself, maybe things will change after the fourth match.” After the game against WAFA, he observed, “When Hearts of Oak picks up, we are invincible.”

“There’s a minor blunder that requires to be fixed.” I could tell that the goal that we conceded was the result of a misunderstanding or miscommunication that cost us the game.

“They are tactically disciplined, and their tactical awareness is adequate. We planned not to let them advance because they are quite young and run a lot.”

The Aduana Stars were shell-shocked last week when they were defeated 3-1 at home by King Faisal in the week 2 fixtures.

The Fire Boys are also without a win in their opening two matches and head coach Asare Bediako is under fire.
