Man Utd green-light loan move for Donny van de Beek

Manchester United have signalled their intent to allow Donny van de Beek a loan move this month, and will let him to choose his destination as long as the club’s demands are met, 90min understands.

The Dutchman has played just 68 minutes in the first half of the Premier League campaign, but up until this point, United have been reluctant to authorise his departure in a season that has been badly disrupted by positive Covid-19 tests and player shortages.

Van de Beek and his agent, Ali Dursan, have been working tirelessly to convince United to let him leave, and sources have now confirmed to 90min that those in charge at Old Trafford are prepared to offload the 24-year-old on a temporary basis.

United will allow him to choose which club he joins, as long as they are satisfied with the offer on the table. The Red Devils are understood to want Van de Beek’s wages paid in full as well as a loan fee, and possible bonuses could even enter the conversations.

Crystal Palace have been pushing to get a deal over the line and are now hopeful of doing so. Van de Beek’s partner is the daughter of Dennis Bergkamp, who remains close with Palace manager Patrick Vieira from their mutual time at Arsenal.

However, a number of sides have registered their interest in Van de Beek and the Dutchman is expected to have plenty of offers to choose between.

United have already loaned out Anthony Martial to Sevilla and Amad Diallo to Rangers, and Jesse Lingard could yet join them before the window slams shut.

Newcastle remain a possible destination for him, even though initial talks over a hefty loan fee and wage contribution have not been met with a positive outcome.
