Kotoko to miss key duo for crunch HEARTS game

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will miss the services of two integral players in their cliffhanger fixture against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday February 20, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The reds have been without Fabio Gama and Isaac Oppong the last few games and that will not change in their outstanding match day 7 fixture against fierce rivals Hearts of Oak.

Gama and Oppong started dome light training in Kotoko last fixture which was a 3-1 fixture against Accra Lions as they watched from the stands.

Gama has been injured for much of the 2021/22 season and has made only eight appearances  that is  611 minutes across all competitions for the reds.

Isaac Oppong who started the season in blistering form has been out for the past nine weeks due to ankle injury

They have been training this week but it appears the Hearts of Oak game will come too soon for the two players.

Kotoko head coach Prosper Nartey is planning the crunch game without the two players for the must win encounter on Sunday.

The reds have a healthy 12 point lead over bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak who are currently 8th on the Ghana Premier League log and even a draw will be in their interest.
