English-born Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been included in England’s final squad for Euro 2024.

The announcement, made on Thursday, comes ahead of the tournament’s kickoff on June 15.

Mainoo, who has already been capped by the Three Lions during the last international break, secured his spot in the squad following a standout season. The Manchester United player featured in 32 games across all competitions, scoring four goals.

However, there was disappointment for Quansah, who has had an impressive breakthrough season with Liverpool. Despite playing 33 games across all competitions, the 21-year-old defender was not selected by Gareth Southgate for the tournament.

Mainoo’s inclusion in the Euro 2024 squad could potentially end any chances of him representing Ghana’s Black Stars in the future, as his commitment to England becomes more established.

England, managed by Gareth Southgate, will face Denmark, Serbia, and Slovenia in the group stage as they aim to secure their first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup. The Three Lions narrowly missed out on winning the last edition of the Euros, where they lost to Italy in the final.
