The Chelsea midfielder duo has cracked an 8years record set by the Barcelona midfield duo Xavi and Andress Iniesta by being the first midfielders from the same club to have been named in the top five for the Men’s Ballon d’Or.
The first duo to achieve this was Xavi Hernandez, current Barcelona head coach (3rd), and Andrés Iniesta (4th) in the 2012 Ballon D’Or ceremony.
Italy and Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho was named third on the Ballon D’Or list as well as France midfield talisman NGolo Kante 5th position equalling the record set by the former Barcelona midfield duo Xavi and Iniesta.
