J.E Sarpong Warns Black Stars Coach CK Akonnor Over The Adaptation Of 1978 Tactics.

Veteran coach J.E Sarpong has sent a word of caution to Black Stars coach C.K Akonnor over the adaptation of the 1978 style of football which won the national a silverware.

Akonnor in a recent interview hinted that he is working on introducing Ghana’s 1978 style of football as he aims to win Ghana it’s first Africa Cup of Nations trophy for the first time in over thirty years.

In an exclusive interview with Accra based Happy Fm, J.E Sarpong said:

“It is good that he is being ambitious with winning the AFCON title. Times have changed and what happened in 1978 is different from what is happening now. Players who played in 1978 are different from those playing currently.”

“The type of players in the team will also influence your style of play so he should play to the ability and capabilities of the players.”

“CK Akonnor should tread cautiously. He is a very young coach and everything he says about winning the AFCON will be judged”, he added.
