Summary of week 7 of the Ghana Premier League

The week 7 the 2020 Ghana Premiere League commenced with a lot goals from the Karela United versus Legon Cities and Inter Allies versus King Faisal game.

Karela United kept their first clean of the season beating Legon Cities 3-0 at the Akoom Park at Tarkwa. Karela United who have been struggling in making their newly adapted venue their fortress recorded their second home and overall win of the season.

Diawisie Taylor’s double and Samuel Ofori’s goal were enough to secure Karela United 3 points against visitors Legon Cities at the Akoon Park. Diwiase Taylor’s brace was enough to earn him the NASCO man of the match.

Karela United are now placed 12th with 8 points on the league table after 7 games whiles visitors Legon Cities are placed 16th with 6 points on the league table after 7 games.

 

At the Accra Sports Stadium, King Faisal came in stronger in the second half with goals from Kwame Perprah and Mustapha Mohammed after losing 2-0 in the first half to the home side Inter Alies with goals from Vitorien Adebayor and Samuel Armah. Inter Allies were still able to secure all 3 points through Samuel Armah and Micheal Gyamerah in the 86th minutes and additional time after nearly sharing points with the visitors.

Victorien Adebayor’s goal and his outstanding performance earned him the NASCO man of the match.

Inter Allies are now placed 15th with 7 points on the league table after 7 games whiles King Faisal are  placed 17th with 3 points on the league table after 7 games.

On Saturday, 1st February 2020, home side Elmina Sharks shared points with visitors Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Ndoum Sports Stadium.

57th minutes goals from Sule Musa wasn’t enough for the visitors to secure three points as Emmanuel Addington got an equalizer for Elmina Sharks in the 68th minutes.

Emmanuel Addington’s character on the field of play was enough to earn him the NASCO man of the match.

Elmina Sharks are now placed 11th with 8 points after 7 games while visitors Techiman Eleven Wonders are placed 13th with 7 points on the league table.

At Nana Agyeman Badu Stadium, Yahaya Mohammed’s 75th minutes was enough to secure 3 points for Aduana Stars from visitors Medeama SC which places them on top of the league table.

Caleb Amankwa’s who was instrumental in the masterminded win against Medeama SC was awarded the NASCO man of the match.

Aduana Stars are now in seated comfortably on top of the league table with 16 points after 7 games whiles Medeama SC maintains their 3rd spot with 13 points after game 7.

At the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium, Ashanti Gold came back to winning ways after winning 1-0 against visitors and relegation threatened side Ebusua Dwarfs through Ibrahim Samed.

Ibrahim Samed’s goal and outstanding performance earned him the NASCO man of the match.

Ashanti Gold is now placed 4th with 13 points on the league table after 7 games while Ebusua Dwarfs are languishing at the bottom of the table with 3 points.

Berekum Chelsea tasted their first defeat of the season in the hands of their area brothers Bechem United that has made them drop to the second place.

Bechem United ensured Brekum Chelsea’s first defeat through Charles Mensah’s goal in the 3rdminutes but it didn’t last long after an own goal by Kofi Agbesimah but Prince Adu Kwabena brought them in front again making it 2-1 at the end of the game.

Prince Kwabena Adu won the NASCO man of the match after securing a victory for his side.

Bechem United are now 6th with 13 points on the league table while Berekum Chelsea have dropped to 2nd place with 14 points after game 7.

NASCO man of the match Gladson Awuku’s only goal secured all points for visitors West African Football Academy (WAFA) against home side Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Accra Great Olympics are now placed 14th with 7 points after 7 games while visitors WAFA are positioned 7th with 12 points after 7 games.

Accra Hearts of Oak traveled to Dewu to squeeze all 3 points out of their sons Dreams FC kind courtesy Kofi Kordzi.

Joseph Esso was awarded the NASCO man of the match.

Dreams FC are now placed 8th with 10 points whiles visitors Accra Hearts of Oak are placed 10th with 10 points on the league table after game 7.

Former Karela United attacker William Opoku Mensah’s goal in the 85th minutes saved Asante Kotoko from losing to visitors Liberty Professionals after they conceded in the 55th minutes through Taminu Muntari ending the game by 1-1.

NASCO man of the match was awarded to Ernest Danso.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are now placed 5th with 13 points on the league table while visitors Liberty Professionals are placed 9th with 10 points on the league table after 7 games.
