Summary of GPL week 9

In the round 9 of the Ghana Premier league, a lot of goals wasn’t scored as it was flooded with draws due to tactical display of defensive brilliance by most of the teams.

Home side King Faisal’s effort to get their first win of the league was proven futile as away side West African Football Academy shared points with them due to controversial penalties awarded to both sides.
WAFA utilized it’s penalty through Ibrahim Aboukari in the 67th minutes but couldn’t hold as King Faisal also utilized it’s penalty through Mohammed Mustapha in additional time.
King Faisal still maintains it’s 18th place with 4 points on the league table while visitors WAFA are placed 6th with 14 points after nine games.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Victorien Adebayor’s early goal wasn’t enough to guarantee Inter Allies a win as visitors Legon Cities shared points with the home side through Abdul Karim’s goal in the 85th minutes.
Inter Allies are now placed 11th with 11 points on the league table while visitors Legon Cities are placed 15th with 10 points on the league table after 9 games.

There was a display of tactical defensive brilliance at the Nana Gyeabor Park as home side Bechem United and visitors Ebusua Dwarfs prevented each other from scoring ending the game by 0-0.
Bechem United are now placed 7th with 14 points on the league table as Ebusua Dwarfs keeps battling relegation at the 17th position with 7 points.

At the Akoon Park, Diawisie Taylor’s 30th minutes goal wasn’t enough to save Karela United from the relegation zone due to Prince Opoku’s 88th minutes strike for Medeama SC ensuring the game ends in a 1-1 draw.
Karela United have now dropped to the 16th pace with 9 points on the league table while Medeama still maintains their 3rd place with 17 points on the league table with 17 points after 9 games.

At the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, Aduana Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak prevented each other from scoring ending the game by 0-0.
Aduana Stars still maintains their 1st place with 17 points while visitors Accra Hearts of Oak are placed 9th with 11 points on the league table after nine games.

Asante Kotoko replicated the results of their rivals Accra Hearts of Oak through an own goal from Dreams Fc Player Abdul Bashiru at Dewu.
Home side Dreams FC are now placed 8th with 13 points while Asante Kotoko are now 4th with 17 points after nine games.

At the Ndoum Sports Stadium, Kofi Owusu’s response to Benjamin Boateng’s goal wasn’t enough for visitors Brekum Chelsea as Benjamin Boateng scored a double in the second half to complete his hat-trick to grab all 3 points for Elmina Sharks.
Elmina Sharks are now placed 10th with 11 points on the league table while visitors Berekum Chelsea have dropped to the 7th place with 17 points on the league table dur to goal difference after 9 games.

At the Obuasi Len Clay park, Ashanti Gold held on to McCarty Appiah’s first half goal to amass all three points from visitors Liberty Professionals.
Ashanti Gold have climbed up to the 2nd position with 17 points due to goal difference after nine games.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Sule Musa and Ibrahim Musah’s goal ensured visitors Techiman Eleven Wonders victory over home side Accra Great Olympics despite they pulling one back through Gladson Awuku.
Accra Great Olympics are now placed 13th with 10 points on the league table while visitors Techiman Eleven Wonders are 14th with 10 points with goals separating them.
