Hearts of Oak held at home by Samartex in goaless draw

Hearts of Oak were held by Samartex at home in a goaless draw in matchday 13 of the BetPawa Premier League.

Hearts and Samartex goalkeepers were on top of their game in the opening half an hour with Richmond Ayi and Lawrence Ansah making crucial saves.

Hearts found themselves through a great position with Amankwah Baafi after a wonderful counter attack initiated by Gideon Asante yet Baafi failed to find the opener.

Samartex equally responded before the break yet Richmond Ayi continued on top form to keep the score goaless.

The second half saw Heart’s of Oaks Linda Mtange threaten the Samartex defense severally yet Lawrence Ansah was there to make equally great saves to keep the visitors in the game.

However, in the dying minutes of the game, Hearts believed they should have be handed a penalty by referee Alfa Ba yet the 2021 champions were denied by the referee with the game ending in a goaless draw.

Hearts are 2nd on the league table with three points behind leaders Aduana and a point clear of rivals Kotoko who have a game in hand.
