GPL Matchday 31: Etouga and Appau scores as Kotoko return to winning ways

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are back to winning ways with a victory over Medeama Sporting club at the Akoon park on Sunday afternoon.

The Porcupine warriors who were without victory in their last two games shocked many today with a 2:0 victory over the yellow and mauve club.


Andrew Appau shot the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute, heading home a beautiful corner kick from left-back Imoro Ibrahim.
Undisputed Cameroonian goal poacher Frank Mbella Etouga doubled his sides lead with a classy finish from a Mudasiru pass, few minutes before half-time.
The Cameroonian forward has now scored 20goals, just one ahead of Yaw Annor of AshantiGold SC.

Asante Kotoko were reduced to 10men in the second half as Mudasiru Salifu was set off.
Medeama Sporting club had the opportunity to come back into the game after the red card but wasted all opportunities created.

Coach Prosper Ogum Nartey’s side have increased their lead on the league table with 59points, 9points clear second placed Medeama.
