GPL MATCH REPORT: Ashgold thump hapless Sharks

Ashgold registered their first victory of the new year thumping Elmina Sharks by 4-0.

The Miners went into the game on the back of a winless run in their last 6 games whilst Sharks were looking to end their losing streak.

The hosts flew out of the blocks and peppered Sharks’ goal area in the early stages of the first half.

Sharks resolve was finally broken after Elijah Addai converted his effort in the 36th minute.

Forward Yaw Annor then doubled the Miners lead four minutes before the end the first half.

With the hosts two goals up at recess, it looked an uphill task for Elmina Sharks who have lost their last 5 games.

Ashgold upped the ante in the second half and midfielder Seth Osei got in on the party and helped himself to a brace.

Thomas Duah and his men have ended their run of games without a Victory in all competitions with today’s result whilst Sharks misery under Coach Mallam Yahaya continues.
