Ghanaian Midfielder Lawrence Ofori’s Maiden Goal Propels Moreirense to Victory

Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori bagged his first goal for Moreirense in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vizela in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Friday night.

The 25-year-old’s strike in the 23rd minute proved to be the decisive moment, securing all three points for his team.

This goal marked Ofori’s first of the season in his 29th league appearance for Moreirense. He has also contributed with one assist this campaign. Ofori played a strong 80 minutes before being substituted for Andre Castro, earning a solid 7.3 rating from SofaScore for his performance.

Compatriot Godfried Frimpong also featured for Moreirense in the match. The win solidifies their position in 6th place on the league table with 49 points after 32 games. Moreirense take on Casa Pia AC in their next league fixture on May 12.

Lawrence Ofori joined Moreirense permanently on a free transfer from Famalicão in the summer of 2023, having previously played for them on loan last season. Before his European adventure began in 2016, Ofori honed his skills at Ghanaian lower-tier side West African Football Academy (WAFA).
