Ghanaian Forward Joel Fameyeh Completes Loan Switch to Baltika in Russia

Joel Fameye

Ghanaian forward Joel Fameyeh has secured a loan move to the Russian side Baltika Kaliningrad from Rubin Kazan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old striker joined Rubin Kazan in 2022 from Orenburg, contributing 14 goals and 3 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. However, his current season has seen a dip in form, with only 3 goals and 1 assist in 20 games.

Baltika Kaliningrad currently sits precariously in 15th place in the Russian Premier League, with just 13 points from 17 games. Their next fixture is a friendly match against Arsenal Tula on February 10.

The league is set to resume from its winter break on March 3rd, with Baltika scheduled to face Sochi in their first match.

Fameyeh’s journey began in Ghana with Asokwa Deportivo and Wa All Stars (now Legon Cities). He has also donned the Ghanaian national team jersey 6 times, finding the net twice.

This loan spell presents an exciting opportunity for Joel Fameyeh to rediscover his form and contribute significantly to Baltika’s survival fight.
