Ghanaian forward Francis Amuzu on Target Despite Anderlecht's Loss to SC Braga

Ghanaian forward Francis Amuzu found the net for RSC Anderlecht despite the Belgian club falling 2-1 to SC Braga in a pre-season friendly.

The 24-year-old winger featured for Anderlecht while Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru did not feature in the match. Amuzu faced the Portuguese club at the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho. The first half remained scoreless, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock.

However, the second half saw a shift in momentum. Braga took the lead just a minute after the restart through an own goal by Anderlecht’s Mario Stroeykens.

Francis Amuzu responded positively for his team, grabbing the equalizer for Anderlecht in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, Anderlecht’s joy was short-lived as Gabri Martinez restored Braga’s lead in the 78th minute.

Despite the loss, Amuzu’s performance will be a positive sign for Anderlecht fans. Coming off a season where he scored 4 goals in 21 league appearances for Anderlecht in the 2023/24 season, he will be hoping to improve upon his performance and secure a starting role as the new season approaches.

Anderlecht will continue their preseason with another friendly on July 20 against German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
