GFA given 2 month ultimatum by CAF to pay $10,000 fine

The Ghana Football Association has been given 2 month ultimatum by the Confederation of African Football to pay their $10,000 fine over a pitch invasion.

Prosper Harrison Addo who is the general secretary for the Ghana Football Association revealed this in a radio interview.

“You remember that CAF fined us $10,000 for the pitch invasion at the Cape Coast Stadium. We have been given 60 days to pay the fine. We could have used the 10,000 dollars for other important things but we are wasting it on one person.”

During the week, The Ghana Football Association was slapped with a fine of $10,000 over pitch invasion during a game between the Ghana Black Stars and the Bafan Bafana of South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium.

During that game, an individual named Awal Suleman interrupted the game as he went to the field of play to take a selfie with his favorite player Thomas Teye Partey. The guards present at the moment had to to intervene which he was later fined by a court in the central region for his uncalled for act.
