Final Friendly Match Report | Hearts vs Okwahu United

Hearts of Oak this morning engaged Okwahu United in a preparatory friendly ahead of the season opener against Hohoe United.

The game was structured into two halves of 60 minutes each, giving the technical team ample time to assess the squad.

From the onset, the Phobians pressed high and dictated play. Mawuli Wayo came close in the early stages, but the Okwahu United goalkeeper denied him with a fine save.

In the 27th minute, Henry produced a moment of brilliance, dribbling past two midfielders before releasing George Paaku, who laid the ball perfectly for Cudjoe to tap home the opener. The goal lifted the confidence of the Phobians as they kept the pressure on, though the Okwahu defence stood firm until halftime.

The second half saw Hearts of Oak introduce fresh legs, with Prince replacing Hamza and Asmah coming on for Raphael Amponsah. The substitutions brought renewed energy, and soon after, a well-orchestrated move involving Agbesi, Collison, and Felix ended with a pinpoint cross that Asmah headed home for the second goal.

Agbesi later produced a world-class save to deny Okwahu United a consolation, ensuring the clean sheet was preserved. Both teams maintained their rhythm in the final stages until the referee brought the game to an end.
