Ex-Ghana Star Alfred Duncan Scores in Fiorentina Loss to AC Milan

Alfred Duncan

Former Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan grabbed a goal for Fiorentina, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory as they fell 2-1 to AC Milan in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The 31-year-old central midfielder scored for Fiorentina in the 50th minute after Ruben Loftus-Cheek put Milan ahead just three minutes after halftime. However, Rafael Leão restored Milan’s lead three minutes later, condemning Fiorentina to defeat.

Despite the loss, Fiorentina remains in 10th place on the Serie A table with 43 points after 29 matches. Their focus will now shift to the Coppa Italia where they face Atlanta in the first leg of the semi-final on April 3rd.

Alfred Duncan has been a key contributor for Fiorentina this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists in his 24 league appearances.

It’s worth noting that the midfielder retired from international duty with Ghana’s Black Stars in 2022, citing discrimination and unfair treatment.
