Everton Women clash with Chelsea postponed

Everton have confirmed that their Women’s Super League fixture with Chelsea on Sunday has been postponed due to injuries and Covid-19 hampering their squad.

Everton’s statement reads: “Following FA approval, Everton Women’s match against Chelsea at Walton Hall Park on Sunday 16 January has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases and injuries in the Everton squad.

“After last weekend’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League clash at Aston Villa was postponed due to COVID-19, a significant number of Everton players and staff are also unavailable on Sunday because of illness and injuries.

“As a result, the Club was unable to select a matchday squad and, regrettably, had no option but to request the postponement of this weekend’s match.

“Details of the rearranged fixture will be confirmed on Everton Club channels in due course.”
