Elmina Sharks wins bragging rights in “Fante Derby”

Elmina Sharks won the bragging right over local rivals Ebusua Dwarfs through Benjamin Boateng’s early goal in the match day 11 of the Ghana Premier league.

A game that left both supporters of Elmina Sharks and Ebusua on their feet was impregnated with tactical display by both teams as both teams were badly in need of the three points.

Elmina Sharks players were relaxed despite the the tension in the game which resulted in their first goal in the first half. Visitors Ebusua tried equalizing but were barren upfront.

Elmina returned in the second to continue their dominance as their rivals were kept at bay due to the attacking threats from Elmina Sharks. Elmina Sharks removed their foot of the paddle which nearly hunted them but the visitors failed to convert their chances ending the game by 1-0 after the final whistle.

A win for visitors Ebusua Dwarfs could have pushed them out of the relegation zone but didn’t happen as they were not a threat surging forward.

The NASCO man of the match was awarded to Augustine Owusu for his outstanding performance in his team’s 1-0 victory over Ebusua Dwafs.
