Attempts To Use Government Airforce Plane To Algeria Failed-Alhaji Akambi

Alhaji Braimah Akambi,board member for Hearts of Oak has told FOX 97.9FM they did all they could as a board to make sure the Hearts contingent traveling to Algeria for the second leg of the JS Saoura game get a convenient traveling schedule by going for the government Air Force plane but their attempts failed in all the two instances they’ve pursued the flight;

“I remember when we were going to Casablanca in October,the only aircraft available was the Ghana Airforce Plane but it was assigned to airlift people from Accra to Tamale for the one week celebration of the late mother of the Vice President.Unfortunately they told us point blank that we cannot be given that flight so we should look for options.

There were a lot of things people said but they knew nothing about what happened.

About a month ago we started inquiring about it,we went back again for it for this trip but they told us government will need the aircraft for the celebration of the Farmers day so they advised us to look for a different aircraft.

We did everything to get a convenient flight that will help our schedule.It got to a time we decided to go through Europe(Lisbon) which would have been an hour flight to Algiers but was canceled due to the Covid-19 situation.

They are people who think we are just sitting down doing nothing,we did everything possible to get a good flight for the team.

That not withstanding,everything is working perfect.No player is complaining about tiredness or fatigue.We got here on Thursday and we’ve had enough rest.”
