Dreams FC etched their name in Ghanaian football history after reaching the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals for the first time. They secured a 3-2 aggregate victory over Stade Malien, following a 1-1 draw in the second leg on Sunday.

This achievement marks the furthest a Ghanaian club has advanced in the competition’s current format, surpassing the 2004 feat of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko who reached the finals. Dreams FC, debuting in the Confederation Cup this season, have already secured a hefty payout of $750,000 for reaching the last four.

The Ghana FA Cup champions can further increase their earnings by $250,000 if they progress to the finals, regardless of the final outcome. Reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final would see their total earnings reach $1 million, with the eventual winner taking home a cool $2 million.

Dreams FC will now face a tough challenge against Egyptian giants Zamalek in the semi-finals. The first leg is set for April 21 in Cairo, followed by the return leg a week later in Kumasi.
