Division one league: Liberty Professionals nears premier league promotion with victory over Tema Youth

Dansoman Liberty Professionals are on the verge of qualifying back to the Ghana premier league after securing a crucial 2:1 victory over Tema Youth at the Tema Sports stadium on matchday 26 of the Division one zone three league.

Evans Owusu gave Tema Youth the league with a fine finish in an electrifying atmosphere in the 29th minute.
Tema Youth who missed out on last year’s promotion to Accra Lions surged on to double their lead but all efforts proved futile.

Liberty Professionals came back in the game in the 54 as Blaise Adjei rose high to head home the equaliser.
In-form Evans Owusu scored a controversial goal from a corner kick which was later denied by the centre referee after consulting his assistant.

George Ansong broke the hearts of the Tema Youth fans as he slot home an 83rd minute winner for Liberty Professionals to keep their Premier league promotion dreams alive.

The victory leapfrog Liberty to the top of the league log with 55points and Tema Youth are now 2nd, 2points behind leaders with 4games to end the season.
