Croatia edge past Morocco as Bronze medalists in third place tie

Croatia have finished third at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a convincing 2-1 victory over the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the third place tie at the Khalifa International Stadium

The Croats opened the scoring in the early minutes of the game after a wonderful and well worked set piece found Ivan Perisic whose header assisted Gvardiol to put the 2018 silver medalists in front.

However, the lead did not last after Dari found the back of the net from a misplaced header from the Croatian defense and he restored Parity for the African history makers who eyed that bronze medal.

Few minutes to halftime, Orsic found himself at the edge of the box and opened himself up to place it beautifully at the far post beyond Morocco goalkeeper Bounou.

Morocco failed to find the equalizer in the second half despite knocking on the door of the Croatian goal as Croatia managed to end their World Cup campaign in memorable fashion.

Morocco keep their heads up after being the first ever African nation to reach the last four of the Mondial
