Coach David Ocloo express delight over win against Accra Lions

Interim head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak David Ocloo expressed delight over their hard-fought victory against Accra Lions.

Speedster Linda Mtange scored his first goal for in the Betpawa premier league as Hearts secured a 1-0 win over neighbors Accra Lions.

After suffering a 3-0 defeat to Karela United last weekend, the Rainbow team was eager to get back to winning ways. However, they struggled to find the back of the net in the first half, and it wasn’t until the 64th minute that they scored through Linda Mtange.

Despite Accra Lions’ attempts to equalize Hearts always appeared to be in control. Eric Esso came close to scoring the second goal but goalkeeper Andrews Owusu was spot on.

Coach David Ocloo expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating to StarTimes after the game, “I told you that we would do our best to get a positive result and we got it. Yes, I am very satisfied. You could see they played gallantly. I am so proud of them and will encourage them to keep it up and continue in this way.”

The victory sees Hearts move up to third place in the league, only three points behind leaders Aduana, who drew 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea. Accra Lions, on the other hand, have dropped to third place.
