Chris Hughton: my tenure with the Black Stars as technical advisor enabled me to forge relationship with the team

Chris Hughton was officially unveiled as Black  Stars Head coach in a ceremony worthy of attraction at the SG Mall in Kumasi on 20th March 2023. 

His contract is set to run until 31st December 2024 and will be subject to renewal based on performance. The new gaffer is set to take on his first assignment on Thursday against the Palancas Negras of Angola.

During the unveiling Hughton revealed his tenure with the team as technical advisor enabled him to forge relationship with the team.

Being a technical advisor allowed me to get a good feel of the squad and also get to build relationships with the players and people around the national team.”

The former Newcastle coach when quizzed on winning a trophy for the Black Stars indicated he wants to build a strong team that can compete.
