Chelsea’s owners have sent Wesley Fofana to the United States for a medical before his arrival from Leicester.

Wesley Fofana will have a medical in the United States before making his move to Chelsea from Leicester City

.Chelsea and Leicester finally agreed on a fee of around £70 million ($82.3 million) for Fofana late last week, but the deal is not expected to be completed for another couple of days.

According to a report from Stamford Bridge, management chose to send Fofana to the United States for his medical, and the 21-year-old flew out on Sunday after missing Leicester’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea the day before due to personal reasons. There are no problems expected, but Fofana has agreed to a six-year contract, and the club’s new owners want extra security.

When he was caught by a horrible challenge in a pre-season friendly in August 2021, the defender broke his leg and injured ankle ligaments, ruling him out for seven months. In May, a consortium led by Todd Boehly and investment firm Clearlake Capital purchased Chelsea. After Marina Granovskaia’s departure, Boehly is guiding them through their first transfer window as interim sporting director.
