Chelsea snap up England-born Ghanaian teenager Travis Akomeah from Watford

 

Chelsea have signed England-born Ghanaian defender Travis Akomeah from Watford on a four-year contract, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The highly-rated 16-year-old fullback was being chased by numerous clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and Bournemouth.

Chelsea won the race to land the youngster after following him up for a very long time.

Akomeah is already training with his Chelsea new team mates and is tipped to succeed at the English giants.

He also predicted to be one of the best defenders in the coming years.

Akomeah at 16 has represented England youth team and produced stellar performances but remains eligible to play for Ghana through the parents.
