CHAN 2022- Black Galaxies secure all three points in 3-1 victory over Sudan

The Black Galaxies earned all three points against Sudan with Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scoring the winner for Annor Walker’s men.

Sudan found the opener through Mohammed Nooh in a well worked goal with the Ghanaian defense absolutely split open and having no answers in the early minutes of the first half.

However, right before the break, Konadu Yiadom restored Parity for the Black Galaxies hence building the much needed momentum for Annor Walker’s men in the second half.

The second half saw Daniel Afriyie Barnie move from hero to zero in thirty minutes as he was fouled in the penalty box and converted to put Ghana ahead on the night.

Barnieh went on to score a brace yet VAR chalked off his second on the night.

The dying minutes saw Ghana push high with Sudan grabbing many opportunities to capitalize on to find the equalizer.

They did find the equalizer yet the goal failed to count due to a foul in the build up to the finish.

However in the 97th minute, Ghanaian skipper Afriyie Barnieh was sent off after a clumsy challenge with the Galaxies finishing the game with 10 men.

Ibrahim Danlad had to step up on countless occasions to keep Ghana in the lead on the night with some incredible nerve wracking saves.

Seidu Suraj went on to seal the win for the Black Galaxies in the dying minutes of the game with Sudan paying the price for missing out on their missed opportunities.

The Black Galaxies lie with six points in Group C after the boycotting of the tournament by Morocco.

Ghana await the Sudan versus Madagascar tie to know if qualification is sealed or not in Group C.
