CAF to hold Executive Committee Meeting on Thursday

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will on Thursday May 18 hold CAF Executive Committee meeting in Algeria.

The matters on the agenda including the dates and format of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This comes handy as Africa will be allotted nine automatic slots at the 2026 World Cup, as part of FIFA’s proposed expansion of the tournament, also hosting bids for the CAF Women’s Champions League 2023, and Coaching/Development Courses that will be rolled-out in Member Associations in line with CAF’s commitment to football development in Africa.

The meetings will be led by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe will also discuss more key matters at CAF for a strategic turn-around to make CAF more self-sustaining and globally desired.

The Executive Committee will also have a status update on the upcoming 45th Ordinary General Assembly and TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire 2023.
