The Confederation of African Football’s Executive Committee will meet virtually on Friday, June 21, 2024, to deliberate on several significant matters, including the dates for upcoming continental championships.

The meeting, chaired by CAF President Patrice Motsepe, will commence at 1400 GMT and will address. Critical issues impacting African football.

Among the topics for discussion is the scheduling of the Africa Cup Executive of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco 2025. Recent reports suggested rescheduling the tournament, raising questions and concerns among fans and stakeholders. CAF promptly refuted these rumors, stating they had not made any decisions yet Executive regarding changes to the competition’s date. The confirmation of the dates for AFCON 2025 remains a key item on the meeting’s agenda.

Additionally, the organizers will hold the draw for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers next month as teams across Africa prepare for the journey to Morocco. The qualifiers will determine the participating nations for the prestigious tournament.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers Executive postponed the last two AFCON tournaments by a year each, holding the 2021 edition in 2022 and, subsequently, the most recent tournament in 2024 instead of 2023.
