Brentford pushing to complete Brennan Johnson & Keane Lewis-Potter deals

Brentford are hoping to wrap up deals for Championship wingers Brennan Johnson and Keane Lewis-Potter before the end of the January transfer window, 90min understands.

The Bees are keen to complete a number of deals in the coming weeks as they look to build on their impressive start to life as a Premier League club.

90min has learned that Brentford are one of a number of top flight sides who have opened talks with free agent Christian Eriksen, but they are eyeing several other deals too.

Brentford are keen on signing Nottingham Forest’s Johnson as well as Hull’s Lewis-Potter, but there remain obstacles to overcome in order to complete those deals.

Forest want to keep Johnson, but the Wales international does not want to sign a new contract. The Reds are also looking to sign Blackpool’s Josh Bowler this window so there remains a chance that they could change their stance on Johnson.

Lewis-Potter, meanwhile, has 18 months left on his deal at Hull, but the Tigers will only sanction a sale this window if their takeover by Acun Ilicali is finalised and approved before the end of the month.

Brentford are also one of several top-flight sides who are looking at a summer move for Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, who is currently on loan at Forest and impressed in their recent FA Cup win against Arsenal.
