BREAKING NEWS: Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac sacked after 2021 AFCON failure

 

The Ghana Football Association have terminated the contract of Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac with immediate effect, according to local media reports.

This comes less than 12 hours after the Sports Minister ordered a massive overhaul of the team’s management committee and backroom staff.

The Serbian tactician was shown the exit following the country’s abysmal performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana suffered a humiliating group stage exit for the first time in 16 years.

The four-time AFCON champions managed to pick just a point and finished last in Group C which had Morocco, Gabon and debutants Comoros.

An official statement from the country’s football governing body on the latest development is to be expected soon.
