Breaking news: 7 Black Maidens and Princesses Players test Positive to Covid-19

Seven (7) players from the National U17 and U20 female football teams have tested positive to COVID-19, few days after going into camping in Cape Coast.

The Ghana COVID-19 health team conducted the mandatory tests on all 60 players and staff of the national teams after they began camping in the Central Region and found the results of the 7 players(names withheld) positive.

The two National teams went into camping last week to prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers after President Akufo-Addo granted  them a special dispensation.

The Ghana Football Association aimed to use the camping of the National Teams to test the waters for the resumption of football in Ghana on the orders of the President. The positive coronavirus cases however is a huge setback and could affect the proposed October timeline.

411gh.net have discovered that the 7 players will be isolated in an undisclosed location while a second round of testing is conducted on the remaining players and staff.

The news has led CAF to announce the postponement of the qualifiers citing movement restrictions across the sub region.
