Black Stars coach prepared to handle player ego

Ghana Senior National team coach C.K. Akonnor has ensured that player ego would be dealt with should it occur.

After announcing his 23-man squad against Sudan many people have been concerned that certain narcissistic members of the team may disrupt the cohesion of the squad. The coach of the side C.K.Akonnor insists that the issue of player management is one of his priorities.

The former Black Stars player invited four local-based players to join the squad to face Sudan in the 2021 Afcon qualifier game with Sudan which will be played this month.

“Whatever happened in Brazil is gone but that is why I’m a manager and as I told you, one of the things discussed was mainly off the field issues so it’s been part of it, no doubt,” he said.
“Definitely, they embrace the truth that there must be a change. I’m looking forward to [meeting] them. When they get here, we will see how it goes but everything is under control”

Ghana will face Sudan on 27th March at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium with the return encounter scheduled to kickoff on the 30th of the same month.
