Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman was instrumental in PAOK’s dominant 5-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa Conference League round of 16 second leg on Thursday night.

The win sees PAOK progress to the quarter-finals with a convincing 5-3 aggregate score-line.

Rahman opened the scoring for PAOK in the 27th minute, setting the tone for a dominant first half. The lead was further extended just six minutes later with an own goal from Petar Sucic, followed by Brandon Thomas putting PAOK firmly in control before halftime.

Dinamo Zagreb threatened a comeback in the second half with Arber Hoxha pulling one back in the 49th minute. However, PAOK remained resolute, with Konstantinos Koulierakis adding another goal in the 72nd minute. Andrija Zivkovic sealed the win for the Greek side with a strike in the 88th minute.

Taking to Instagram after the match, Baba Rahman simply wrote “what a night,” reflecting on his team’s impressive performance.

This goal adds another chapter to Rahman’s productive season for PAOK. He now boasts an impressive 5 goals and 3 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

PAOK will now eagerly await the Europa Conference League quarter-final draw scheduled for March 15 in Switzerland, where they will discover their next opponent in the race for the title.
