Former Black Stars head coach, Avram Grant has hailed Charles Kwabena Akonnor on his appointment as the head coach of the Black Stars.
Grant, who worked with CK Akonnor as one of his scout during his stint as the head coach of the Black Stars described him to be someone who knows football and has the passion to learn as a coach.
Speaking to Francis Hema of 433ghana.com in an exclusive interview, the former Chelsea boss revealed that he has spoken to CK Akonnor twice since his appointment and is optimistic that he will succeed because of his passion.
“If I have to advise him, I have to that to him in a personal chat not through the media.
“I know him, he is a good guy, he was my scout, he knows football and he has passion to learn a lot, I can only wish him well, we have spoken two times since his appointment.
“He has lot of experience because he played in Germany, though football has changed a lot since then and I wish him and all the Black Stars players from my heart. Whenever he needs me, I can help him”.
CK Akonnor was appointed as the head coach of Black Stars on January 15, 2020 and is yet to play a game due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
