Ashanti Gold president Dr. Kweku Frimpong quits

Ashanti Gold sporting club’s president Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has resigned as the clubs president following the unsporting behaviour of the clubs supporters.

Dr. Frimpong announced his decision to resign as Ashanti Gold president on Fox fm sports today following the club’s supporters unsporting behaviour.

The supporters chased Dr. Frimpong out of the Len Clay sports stadium after AshantiGold 1-0 home defeat to Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier league week 14.

“I am no more the president of Ashanti Gold SC. I have decided to quit the Club,
“The supporters are not ready to work with us [club’s management ]. They don’t like our ideologies, so they should manage the team themselves”.
“I discussed with my family and they asked me to quit the club because of the unsporting behaviour of Ashanti Godls supporters”.

Dr. Kwaku Frimpong became the president of the Obuasi based club in 2018.
