Asante Kotoko to wear black armband in honour of Yaw Barwuah against Medeama

The Ghana Football Association has approved Asante Kotoko’s request to wear black armbands and observe a minute silence during their Match Day 14 Premier League clash against Medeama SC on Sunday.

This is in honour of former Chairman Yaw Bawuah who passed on Friday, January 14, 2022 after a short illness. He was a brilliant football administrative asset not only to Asante Kotoko SC but to Ghana who achieved greatness for our game.

The late Yaw Barwuah, led Kotoko to win their second CAF champions league trophy in 1983, beating Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the final.

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association and the entire football family, wish to convey to the family and friends of our beloved, Yaw Bawuah, our heartfelt condolences.

Asante Kotoko who lead the Premier League table with 27 points host fourth placed Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday.
