Asante Kotoko SC Unhappy With The GFA, Threatens To Pull Out From CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko has threatened to pull out from their CAF Champions League clash against FC Nouadhibou citing frustrations from the Ghana Football Association.

According to Asante Kotoko, the GFA has violated CAF regulations which do not permit a game at a specific venue 72 hours before a CAF scheduled game at the same venue.

The CAF regulations state:

“5.1 In case of clash of dates between CAF matches and other matches organized on a regional basis or matches organized on special occasions, PRIORITY shall be given to the matches of CAF.”

“5.2 NO MATCH or event should be organized in the stadium hostings a CAF match 72hrs before the scheduled kick-off time.”

Ghana Premier League week four will host Accra Hearts Of Oak and Karela United today at 6 p.m which goes against the CAF regulations.

In an interview with Accra based Asempa Fm, PRO of Kotoko, Moses Antwi Benefo said:

“If I were the one making decisions, I would have asked that we quit, but we would confer as management on the way forward.”
