FIFA World Cup: Argentina edge past Croatia to make FIFA World Cup Final

Argentina march on to the final of the world’s biggest football stage after an impressive 3-0 victory over 2018 runners up Croatia at the Lusail Stadium.

The Albiceleste skipper Lionel Messi opened the scoring from 12 yards after Julian Alvarez was fouled by Dominic Livakovic. Messi kept his composure and riffled the ball into the left hand top corner of Livakovic to place Argentina in front.

However, the Croats kept their structure and mentality and sought to fight back to eventually restore parity yet a mesmerizing run by Manchester City’s Alvarez was enough to find Argentina’s second and provide the 1986 winners with breathing space going into the break.

Dalic’s men hoped to turn it around in the second half with 12 shots overall in the game as they continuously regained possession yet of the 12 shots they fired towards goal, only two were on target and after 69th minutes of enthralling action, Julian Alvarez found his brace and booked the spot for Argentina in the final.

The Albiceleste await the winner of the Morocco vs France second Semi Final tie as they hope to be crowned world champions for the third time.
