Andre Ayew scores in Le Havre’s defeat to Clermont foot

In the latest match against Clermont Foot, Ghana’s captain Andre Ayew netted his fourth goal of the season for Le Havre, despite their 2-1 loss at Stade Gabriel-Montpied in round 26 of the French Ligue 1.

Ayew’s left-footed strike from the centre of the box, assisted by Russia’s Daler Kuzyaev, came in the 46th minute. The game saw both teams reduced to 10 men following red card incidents. Ayew put in an 85-minute effort, subsequently subbed off marking his 12th appearance for Le Havre this season in the league.

The team’s defeat places them 13th on the league table with 27 points, having scored 26 goals and conceded 33 in 26 matches. Clermont Foot remains at the bottom of the league with 20 points, 19 goals scored, and 43 conceded.

Ayew’s performance came on the back of earning a spot in Otto Addo’s squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria on March 22 and Uganda on March 28, scheduled to take place in Marrakech, Morocco.
