Anderlecht CEO Fredberg Praises Majeed Ashimeru, Secures Midfielder's Future

RSC Anderlecht CEO Jesper Fredberg has expressed strong confidence in midfielder Majeed Ashimeru, justifying his recent contract extension that keeps the Ghanaian with the club until June 2027. Ashimeru’s previous contract was set to expire in 2025.

“We firmly believe in Majeed’s qualities,” Jesper Fredberg declared. Injuries hampered Ashimeru last season, but his “strong pre-season” and renewed focus convinced the club to prioritize him over external options.

Fredberg went on to praise Ashimeru’s unique skillset, describing him as a “dynamic, fast and always forward-thinking midfielder” who perfectly complements Anderlecht’s playing style. He emphasized Ashimeru’s ongoing value to the team, highlighting his fit with their tactical approach.

Despite last season’s setbacks, Fredberg believes Ashimeru’s resilience sets a positive tone for the upcoming campaign. With 15 appearances across all competitions in 2023/24, Anderlecht expects Ashimeru to continue playing a key role, bringing success and pride to the club. The journey begins on July 27th as Anderlecht kicks off their Belgian Pro League campaign against STVV.
