African Games: Black Satellites opening match against Congo ends goalless

Black Satellites

Ghana’s Black Satellites drew goalless with the small Leopards of Congo in their 2023 African Games opening match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 8,2024.

Ghana put up an impressive performance in the second half after a scoreless first half.

Coach Desmond Ofei’s side’s dominant second half performance almost saw Ghana go up in the game but Aziz Misibau’s shot hit the cross bar to deny Ghana a goal.

The result leaves Ghana and Congo with a point each ahead of Benin and Gambia who will face each other in the second Group A game later on Friday.

The Black Satellites will take on Gambia in their second group game on Tuesday, March 12 before the final group game on March 15,2024.

Two top-placed teams in Group A and B will advance to the semi-finals stage of the competition.
