AFCON 2021- South African Referee Victor Gomez To Officiate Ghana-Gabon game

For the second group C encounter with the Black Stars of Ghana and the Gabonese national team in the ongoing AFCON 2021 in Cameroon,South African
referee Victor Gomez has been appointed to officiate that epic clash between the two.

Gomes,39 years of age is a PSL referee since 2008,and was voted PSL Referee of the Season in 2012–13 and 2017–18 season becoming an international referee since 2011.

In 2018, he was hailed by the South African Football Association after he rejected and reported an attempted bribe of over R300 000.When reported had been approached and offered the sum of money to fix a CAF Confederation Cup match between Nigerian side Plateau United and Algerian side USM Alger.

He was again nominated for the PSL Referee of the Season award upon the conclusion of the domestic campaign.

Ghana lost their first group game 1-0 to Morroco as Gabon made it past another group C opponent Comoros.The match is slated to be at 7pm tomorrow thus 19hr GMT.
