AFCON 2021; Milovan Rajevac admits Black Stars missing Asamoah Gyan

Black Stars Head Coach, Milovan Rajevac has admitted the Black Stars are missing the services of former captain, Asamoah Gyan at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

Ghana have struggled to fashion attacking opportunities in their opening two games against Morocco and Gabon with their solitary strike at the tournament coming from a moment of brilliance from Captain, Andre Ayew.

Coach Milovan Rajevac admitted the team are missing Gyan’s presence at the tournament.

Asamoah Gyan, the country’s all-time top scorer, scored three goals for the Black Stars in their run to the finals at the African Cup of Nations in 2010.

Asamoah Gyan also had a successful World Cup in 2010 under Milovan Rajevac where he also scored three goals.

The Black Stars have struggled for goals under Coach Milovan Rajevac in his second spell and the Serbian tactician admitted Gyan’s presence has been sorely missed.

“We don’t have a team like we had in 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan who could score from everywhere.” – Milovan Rajevac said.
