AFCON 2021: Kuffour reveals what needs to change about Black Stars

Ghanaian football icon Sammy Kuffour has revealed what needs to change about the Black Stars at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The Senior national football team lost their first game at the 33rd edition of Africa’s Flagship football event to Morocco in a 1-0 result.

This outcome leaves Ghana occupying last spot in Group C and in a fretting state following reactions from Ghanaians after the game.

Sammy Kuffour who is a member of the Black Stars management committee speaking ahead of Ghana’s next game against Gabon, believes a couple of things need to change about the team with mindset and commitment at the heart of it all.

He told Footballmadeinghana.com in an interview when posed with a question about what needs to change.

“I think it’s about the mindset and commitment…Nothing else!, ” he said.

“In the last game, we tried our best, but it wasn’t enough to win. Now the focus is on the next game, we need to get the 3 points by all means to upgrade us to the next stage.

“The last game against Comoros is also important for us, but focus is on Gabon this coming Friday that’s the most important thing for us,” he concluded.

Ghana will face Gabon on Friday and will wrap up Group C assignments with a clash against Comoros on Tuesday.
