AFCON 2021: Ghana vs Comoros- Match Preview

 

Ghana face Comoros in their final game of Group C at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The match is scheduled for 20:00Hrs kick off at the Omnisports Roumde Adjia stadium in Garoua.

The Black Stars need a win against the debutants to stand any chance of progressing to the next round.

Coach Milovan Rajevac’s men lost their first game to Morocco before a 1-1 stalemate with Gabon on Friday.

Meanwhile, Comoros have also endured a tough debut appearance at the continental showpiece.

Les Coelecantes began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Gabon. This was followed by a 2-0 defeat at the hands of high-flying Morocco on Thursday, when Selim Amallah and Zakaria Aboukhlal scored in either half to send the Atlas Lions through to the knockout stages.

Comoros are rooted to the bottom of Group C and while they will now look to bow out on a high, next up is a significantly-superior Ghana side who have been victorious in their previous two encounters.

Team News:

Mohammed Kudus failed to make the squad for the 1-1 draw with Gabon and will be assessed.

Iddrisu Baba was forced off midway through the second half and will face a late fitness test, but Benjamin Tetteh is suspended after his late red card shortly after coming on.

Comoros have no injury or suspension concerns for their meeting with Ghana.

Kassim Abdallah and Younn Zahary may return to the side in defence.
