Aduana Stars shortlist three candidates for coaching role following Yaw Acheampong’s dismissal

Aduana Stars have begun the search for a new head coach after parting ways with Yaw Acheampong in the wake of a disappointing home loss to Asante Kotoko.

The decision was prompted by a dismal start to the season, with the club managing only two wins in 12 matches.

The Dormaa-based side, two-time Ghana Premier League champions, currently find themselves in 14th place on the league table with 12 points, recording six draws and four defeats alongside their two victories.

The team’s poor form has prompted management to prioritize finding a replacement swiftly to restore stability and improve performance.

Club spokesperson Evans Oppong confirmed that three coaches have been shortlisted for the role, comprising two local options and one foreign candidate.

“We are considering three coaches. Two locals and one foreign, but it is likely we will go in for a local coach. We will name a new coach within this week,” Oppong told Ghanasoccernet.com.

The Ogya lads are eager to turn their season around and will face Dormaa Unity SC in the round of 64 of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup on Sunday, December 1, a match that provides an opportunity to build momentum under new leadership.
