Mario Mandzukic has officially retired from football

Former Juventus, AC Millan and Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic has officially retired from football at the age of 35.

The Croatian international announced his retirement via his social Media handle.

Mario started his football career in his hometown club Marsonia from where he moved to two Croatian capital city football clubs, first joining NK Zagreb and then signing with Dynamo Zagreb in 2007, where he was Prva HNL top goalscorer in the 2008–09 season. His prolific scoring earned him a transfer to VfL Wolfs burger 2010. After some impressive performances at UEFA Euro 2012 where he was the joint top scorer, he was signed by Bayern Munich in his first season with the club he won three trophies; the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League while also becoming the first Croatian to score in a Champions League final.

After playing for Bayer Munich Mario has also played for Atletico Madrid, AC Millan, and Juventus.

Mandzukic has won 24 trophies including 1 UCL, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 FIFA Cup World Cup, 9 championships, and 12 between national Cups and Super Cups. He is the second-best scorer ever of the Croatian national team with 33 goals in 89 appearances.
