Every Child needs This Foundation – Laryea Kingston

Gone are the days, when Saturday’s were meant for colts football all around the country with games been played from fitting shops (Apenkwa School Park), Gravels pitches (PWD Takoradi) amongst lot of Sakora Fields which brought out a lot of stars who wore the national colours at the Pinnacle of world football.

A beneficiary of colts football is Ex-Blackstars player Laryea Kingston and after the re-launch of Juvenile League took time to run through the past and what he got from that level.

He admits that when it came to tactics, it was very difficulty for them because they all had to use their individual skills to move their teams forward which he feels every child needs to acquire because it helps them to understand how to control the ball, which part to control with, how to dribble and also remain competitive to get to higher levels.

Laryea Kingston said,

“Previously, when it comes to tactics it was very difficulty because we all had to use our individual skills we had to make sure the team went well but trust me, every child needs this foundation to be able to understand how to control the ball, which part of the foot to control the ball with and also how to compite to get to a certain level”

“Juvenile football is where you can pick many things as a young player interms of how to dribble, how to face a tough opponent and it prepares you to stand pressure and makes you to be technically good”

Using himself as an example, he emphasized that most of his colleagues and him really had help from colts football as it is the foundation of football.

“Something that really helped me and then most of my colleagues because we all know that we cannot build without having a solid foundation”

“Juvenile football is a foundation of football so every country have to embrace and focus more on it because this is where you can get very good players into your first teams that would be able to help the clubs in the country and also make their football attractive”

“So for me, I think that’s the place that have me alot of experiences”

The Ghana Football Association looks forward to see the start of Juvenile football at the various regions this weekend after launching it last week Thursday.
